Centuries ago, when the farm was inhabited by nuns who were linked to Florence's Arte della Lana, what is now a light and open studio apartment served as a chapel where the nuns prayed.
Today this high-ceiling studio apartment, with sleeping quarters tucked into a cozy mezzanine, is full of romantic Tuscan charm. It has a pleasant southern exposure and offers sweeping views of the Mugnone Valley and Firenze. The beautiful flat reveals its unique charm at sunset, when the sun’s setting rays paint the walls of each room in brilliant shades of pink and gold.
The primary level of the studio is lined with rich, red terracotta flooring and includes a modern, fully equipped hide-away kitchen, a modern, full bath, and an eat-in living room. The pullout couch conveniently expands to accommodate two more people. The sleeping quarters are located on the mezzanine and are illuminated by a porthole window that once brightened the ancient chapel. The bed can be arranged as a queen size bed or two single beds.
The apartment includes a table and chairs in a lovely garden with incredible views of the surrounding valley. The garden space abuts the outdoor area of the apartment next door. It is an excellent spot for dining alfresco during the warmer months (which are plentiful in this area of the world!) or for relaxing and enjoying a peaceful afternoon while basking in the splendour of the Tuscan hills. Guests can make use of the stone barbecue, which is located nearby on the main terrace overlooking the valley.
The apartment, just 5 minutes by car from Fiesole's main square and 15 minutes to Florence, allows for a relaxed and pleasant stay, with nature right outside your door and a myriad of Renaissance monuments nearby.
